Happy Place
If laughter is the best medicine, then unseasonably warm weather in February is a close second.
This past holiday weekend the weather gods graced us Connecticut folk with spectacular sunshine and a well-deserved respite from the cold. MM's dad was away for most of the weekend- enjoying his annual ski trip with the guys in Vermont {men, men, men}. But we didn't miss the opportunity to return to the beach that becomes our second home in the summers. We grabbed our favorite local lunch to-go and met up with MM's uncle to watch the pups run wild.
And, thankfully, the warmth continued well after Dad's return, giving us plenty of time for a President's Day afternoon of family fun at the Point. It was the perfect winter pick-me-up; and reminded us of the beauty that lies just around the corner. Hopefully this sunshine will stick around and we can say "sayonara" to this winter of ours. Because, springtime: we're ready for 'ya!
After traveling a bunch the entire month of May and the beginning of June, we finally had a full family weekend at home. And it was just what we needed.
Friday we celebrated Maddie’s birthday with a super low key get together at the house with family. We grilled and enjoyed some good old fashion Carvel ice cream cake and enjoyed our first official BBQ of the season at our house.
