Six Months With Lila Lee
You guys: this sweet little cherub is six months old today, and I honestly cannot believe it.
It’s such a strange dichotomy: to feel so strongly that this tiny person was always meant for us, while formerly having succumbed to the notion that she may never come. As a result, there were moments, at first, where I couldn’t believe she was here. That she was ours. That after everything, after she decided to grow in my belly; that she came so effortlessly.
Splish-Splash: Our Bath Time Must-Haves
Splish Splash! Is there anything better than a chubby baby in a bath filled with bubbles? I think not. And, thankfully, both my girls have been big fans of bath time from the start.
8 Baby Products I've Actually Been Using
A few months ago I shared my complete baby registry here. Comprehensive as it was, you never really know what’s going to work for your baby until she gets here- I think we tried about six sleepers before finding one that worked for MM. Luckily, this time around didn’t require as much trial and error. And almost eight weeks in, we’ve pinpointed our tried and true baby products. Some we used with MM, and some are brand new {to us}.
Friday Favorites
Happy Friday, kids! I’m officially 38 weeks today, and at this point, you could say I’m BEYOND ready to meet your girl. I took it pretty easy this past week, but I did manage to pop into our local Jojo Maman Bébe to try out their Maternity VIP Service- a personal shopping experience for expectant mothers.
Clean + Simple Swaps with Sherwood Green Life
As I’ve mentioned before {here} I’ve been pretty invested in clean beauty ever since becoming pregnant for the first time, roughly five years ago.
It was through a little bit of research way back then that I learned the importance of avoiding parabans and phthalates when pregnant. Immediately, I began switching over so many of the products I used on a daily basis; and I’ve been interested in clean, everyday swaps we can make at home ever since.
A 36 Week Bumpdate + My Latest Go-To Accessory
Happy Friday! We’re 36 weeks today, and now we’re really almost there. We’re four weeks away and in the home stretch to meet our girl. Compared to my first pregnancy, this one has been quite a breeze. And I’m so grateful that I’ve had the energy and time and physical ability to document it here, in this space. I was hesitant at first, to get in front of the camera, to share this personal journey. But now, looking back, I’m so happy I’ll have this little diary of this phase of life for years to come.
How I've Managed My Anxiety This Pregnancy
When I sat down to write this post, I headed to my Musings tab to see what I’ve already said about my previous experience with pregnancy and postpartum anxiety. And I was shocked to find- very little. Aside from a few mentions in my 30 Week Bumbdate {here} and a few posts on Instagram, I haven’t really delved into the anxiety that riddled my first pregnancy and reared its head after Maddie was born.
So here it is:
Hospital Bag Must-Haves + A Major Giveaway
34 weeks pregnant and its just about time to pack my hospital bag. Eek!
I can’t believe how quickly the last few months have gone by- it really is so much faster the second time around. And we can’t wait to meet our newest girl!
To celebrate the arrival of Baby Number Two, I’ve teamed up with Greenwich Moms and the Local Mom’s Network to share my Hospital Bag Essentials and to give away one bag filled to the brim with all my must-haves to one lucky reader- valued at $1500!
My Complete Baby Registry
Ask and you shall receive!
Yesterday I had a few requests via Instagram for a complete registry guide for baby. I then took to stories to poll your interest, and an overwhelming majority of ya’ll wanted to see my picks over here on the blog.
So here we go!
Nursery Reveal
32 weeks and a few days later, and we’ve got a nursery!
If memory serves me correctly, I believe I had Maddie’s nursery done way sooner- I was a teensy bit excited to get her space all ready and set way-back-when. We eased into it a bit more this time around, but once I got the decorating bug, it was full steam ahead.
30 Weeks
30 weeks. It’s insane how quickly time has flown by this time around.
Two seasons have passed since we got our news, and we already a week into summer with this bump of mine. Only a few short months before our due date, and we are ready for it over here! As we enter the final ten week stretch of pregnancy, here are a few updates on baby number two:
25 Non-Maternity Dresses For Bump
You may have noticed there have been a lot of flowy dresses on the feed the past few months. I’m always a sucker for a breezy maxi; but when it comes to dressing my bump it’s pretty much all I wear.
This pregnancy, I’ve invested in a few “maternity” pieces , which I love- here and here. But I struggle with spending money on pieces that I’m unlikely to wear post-pregnancy.
Instagram Q + A: Baby Essentials
Over the last few weeks I’ve taken to Instagram to ask your help with a few baby-centered questions.
It started with my recent quest for a new option for baby sleepers. In case you missed it, I had been pretty set on using the Rock n’ Play Sleeper again for baby number two.
Big Sister
When I first announced when we were pregnant, one of the first questions I was asked was: Does Maddie know??
The reality is, I think she knew before I did. Weeks before I took a test, I remember her asking me what was in my belly. I never thought anything of it, but in hindsight it still gives me goosebumps.
My Take on Maternity Jeans
If you’ve seen my walking around town in jeans lately, then you may have seen my walking around town in jeans pulling them up over my pregnant behind every .5 seconds. It’s sad, and annoying, but true: Maternity jeans are not my friend. 99% of the time.
And I have tried on A LOT of them.
20 Weeks
Twenty weeks and we’re half way there!
It feels like it was just last week that we found out the unbelievable news; it’s going by so quickly this time, and yet there’s still so far to go. I forgot you’re basically pregnant for a year.
I didn’t have Lilies and Lambs when I was pregnant with MM, and as a result I didn’t document really any part of those nine months- in pictures or words. So there’s little in terms of physical memories of that part of our journey.
