A Night at the Carnival

St Catherine's Lilies and Lambs

Five years ago in  September, I met a tall, handsome drink of water that would soon become my husband. It was a Sunday morning in a local pub- his eyes were glued to the New England patriots on the tube. And despite the fact that I had never laid eyes on him before, I quickly learned we were both townies, and had crossed paths many times in our lives.

We attended the same elementary school at the same time- although several years apart; he had coached my brother's high school lacrosse team; he remembered my mother from the local sports shop he worked at many moons ago; and we attended the same church for most of our lives. Its at this very same church we would marry, nearly four years ago. And its where our daughter- like the two of us- was baptized as an infant. And every summer since the year she was born, we take her to enjoy their annual carnival- just like mom and dad did.

St. Catherine's of Siena's Carnival of Fun is a childhood staple- and one of my very favorite traditions to share with our daughter. The rides are quintessential childhood nostalgia, the games are throwbacks of the most fun kind, and the food is ah-mazing {the pizza fritta is a must}.

Here are a few snaps of our Wednesday at the carnival. If you're local, you still have until Saturday, July 15 to ride that ferris wheel.
