Rainbows
Last month, our girl turned three.
Gosh, where does the time go?
The past few years I've thrown together some Pinterest-inspired parties- Maddie in Onederland, followed by a sunshine themed brunch to celebrate year two.
Playing Hooky
Yesterday, I tried to play Supermom.
As someone that quite vocally rejects the idea of the perfect parent, this was entirely out of character. But I woke up inspired: to try to be organized, and responsible, and run like clockwork.
A Week In Nevis
This post has been a long time coming!
If you follow along on Instagram, you may have noticed we spent a week as a family in Nevis, located in the heart of the Caribbean. We fell instantly in love- the people, the vistas, the food and the energy all made for one of the most amazing family vacations. It was the perfect combination of action and tranquility- perfect for traveling with the littles. Sure, it can take a trek to get there- plane, and car and boat, oh my- but once you're there, it is so worth it.
From my Mama
Hi, Friends! It’s been a while. MM finished her first official year of school, and the end of the year got a bit crazier than I had anticipated.
Masters in Motherhood
Little known fact: I’m credits away from my Masters in Education.
And before there was Maddie, there were classrooms. A lot of them. First as a student, then as both teacher and pupil. And while I never found my name on the classroom door, I was a substitute teacher as I chipped away at my secondary degree.
Mother's Day Gift Guide
Mother's Day is in just a few days; but there's still enough time to squeeze in some last minute shopping. This year we'll be out of town for the holiday- you guessed it, back to Mickey's House we go- so we'll be forgoing a traditional Mother's Day brunch in exchange for the Magic Kingdom and mouse ears.
Gifting Tiny Gardens
And just like that- another Mother’s Day is upon us. It’s crazy how time flies in this season of life- in this chapter called Motherhood.
This year will be my third Mother’s Day as a proud mama- as the happy recipient of flowers and chocolates and crafts made by tiny toddler fingers.
36 Hours in Rhode Island
I found Moore House boutique stays where I find most of my favorite things these days- via Instagram. I instantly fell in love with their dreamy aesthetic; the tiny squares of their feed filled with bright, coastal living spaces punctuated with the most perfect blend of neutrals, vibrant greenery and classic, vintage finds.
12 Summer Ready Suits For Girls
If April showers bring May flowers then we are in for quite a treat.
It's been a rainy spring here in Connecticut. And even though it doesn't feel like it quite yet, beach days are {hopefully} right around the corner. We'll be heading on a tropical family vacation in the next few weeks; and this little family has big plans to do very little but play in the sand and swim in the ocean. So I've been stocking up on all things swim- particularly for our little minnow.
5 Books I've Read recently
At the beginning of this year I decided to get back into reading.
I've never been much of a habitual reader, per se- Bravo almost always beats out a good book- but the amount of books I had read in the past few years was borderline embarrassing. And I had watched all the Bravo.
Friday Favorites
Snow days and pjs and all the peanut butter pancakes. That’s what our week was made of. We welcome the first day of spring here in Connecticut with another Nor’easter. Which, having lived here most of my life, is pretty par for the course.
Our Easter Picks
It feels like only yesterday my sister-in-laws and I had our annual "who wants to host Easter" talk; and the holiday felt like eons away. I think we all got an eye roll or two from our S.O’s, too. But that’s besides the point. Because time flies by these days; and just like that, Easter is a little over a week away.
Life Lately
In like a lion, out like a lamb? Not too sure about that one this year. This sunshine is deceiving and it’s still cold as a mutha. And we’re expecting {yet} another winter storm later this week. Let’s just say my fingers are a little numb from googling vacations down in the south and I’m ready to board that jet plane towards sunshine.
Friday Favorites
Another week, another crazy case of Connecticut weather.
This winter just won’t quit; and this mama is just about over it. That being said, snowfalls and cold aside, the sun has been shining; and there’s nothing quite like the sun peeking through over a morning cup of coffee.
