When I first found out I was pregnant with MM, I did what many first time mamas do- I headed out to the local bookstore and picked up a few pregnancy, birthing and parenting books.
I chose an array from the classics to newer ones, trying to soak in all the knowledge I could. I quickly learned what pregnant moms could and could not do; and basically sent myself into a tizzy when it came to all the potentially harmful products I unknowingly had been exposing myself to. Yay! How fun!
It was then that I first became cognizant of clean products- both beauty and otherwise:
Yes, I had always loved the smell of Mrs. Meyers soaps, and fell in love with the anchor-clad Honest Co. diapers; but I never understood the importance of being green. Particularly when it came to beauty products. I had never heard of a paraban or a phthalate- but they quickly became part of my pregnant vocabulary.
Choosing green skincare products is one of the many healthier choices I continue to make even when not pregnant- and now, four years later, I’m still on the constant hunt for new {to me} clean lines.
