Cajun Cod Tacos
Taco Wednesdays are a thing right? Two recipe posts in one day, because ‘tis the season to eat all the things.
Sitka Salmon Shares sent me a package this week of premium, sustainable wild-caught Alaskan seafood- delicious salmon and cod sent straight to my doorstep from the fishermen that caught it. I thawed one package of their cod yesterday, and whipped up some cajun cod tacos tonight. Not only were they SUPER easy, but they were tasty, too. All the ingredients I used were on-hand.
Simple Banana Bread With Lots ‘O Chocolate Chips
Winter break is officially in full swing, and we’ve been spending a whole lot of time cozied up at home. Originally, I was going to sign MM up for a few December camps, but instead I opted to keep her home- to fill our days with some festive crafts, Christmas movies, a few playdates and whole lot of baking.
An After School Treat at Chocoylatte + A Holiday Giveaway
Since Maddie started school two years ago, we’ve loved spending a little time together after pickup- catching up on our days and enjoying an afternoon snack. For the last few years, it has been some of the most precious time for the two of us; or at least for me, as her mom. I get to learn about her day; to take her emotional temperature; to sense how she perceived the way she was treated and what she learned; what made her happy or sad or mad.
Boursin Stuffed Chicken
Typically, I don’t publish blog posts on Monday nights. But it’s been so long since I’ve made a home cooked meal; and the occasion had to be documented. Growing up, my mom cooked nearly every single night- gourmet meals for her family of six
Apple Dippers
Back to school photos are starting to fill my feed, and it is getting me super excited for my favorite time of year. Yes, I’m sad to see the summer come to an end, albeit less so than in previous, non-pregnant years. But there’s just something about fall that I can’t shake.
Mom's Crowd-Pleasing Pasta Salad
Everyone has a dish or two that will forever scream “childhood” whenever it is served.
For me, there are a few- Mom’s famous chocolate chip cookies, Deer Valley turkey chili, and this colorful take on a summertime favorite: Pasta Salad.
Three Simple Mocktails
Who’s ready for Happy Hour?
Spring is here, meaning beach nights and BBQ’s are just around the corner. And if I’m being honest, I’m a little sad about missing rosé season pretty much in its entirety this year. When I was pregnant with MM I didn’t think about having a drink once. But this time around, I’ve missed a weekend margarita here and there.
Three Festive Cocktails with Lugano
December is just around the corner, and that means we're ready for all the holiday cheers.
Typically, we host an annual Christmas party with our nearest and dearest. Most of the time, we stick to a beverage menu consisting heavily of reds- you can find my comprehensive list of reds for every budget here. But this year I wanted to spruce it up with a few seasonal cocktails from our local favorite, Lugano Wine Bar & Salumeria.
Mom’s Traditional Beef Stew
This past weekend was a long one- four days of family, friends and food to celebrate my baby sister tying the knot. It made me realize how lucky I am to have such a great tribe to call my own. It also made realize that I’m no spring chicken- and I’m still recovering from going non-stop for almost a week.
Five Local: Eats
If I’m being honest, I’d say about ninety percent of our social life revolves around meals. A lot of our family life does, too, as a matter of fact. We’re into food- from green juices to meat and cheese plates and everything in between.
Football Foods: Turkey Chili
There are few things this family enjoys more than a cozy fall Sunday spent with football, a fire, and delicious comfort food.
My husband and I met on a fall Sunday. In a local bar. Watching the Patriots. Over a few perfect Bloody Mary’s.
A Valentine's Day Brunch
Valentine's Day is just a week away; so to get in the spirit this past weekend, I invited a few girlfriends over for a little ladies' brunch.
I wanted to create a sweet party that was equal parts girly and unexpected- lots of bright pinks, balloons and bubbly combined with pops of black, gold tones and all the cold brew coffee.
Schedule
Easy Apple Crisp
When your husband says its the best dessert you've ever made, you take it for what its worth. When he eats the entire crisp in one sitting and demands you make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas, you start to believe he really likes it.
ABCs + Apple Crisp Muffins
First day of school down, and I have to say: both mom and mini didn't do half bad. Actually, if we're being honest, she did better than the former.
I carried her into her classroom, yes; and while she played shy for 15 seconds, as soon as her little pink sneaker hit that floor she was off. And she never looked back.
A Night With Mezzetta
If you follow along on Instagram, then you know we spent last night enjoying some tasty dishes, amazing cocktails and great company at the Mezzetta table. Who knew that a little peperoncini could be so versatile- and can transform such a variety of dishes into vibrant, zesty takes on classic favorites?
