Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends!

I hope everyone is enjoying the start to summer, and that sanity was somewhat maintained as we all kicked off the next several weeks home with the kiddos. I was initially a little thrown by the lack of routine, but by the end of the week we all got the hang of it- Lila so enjoyed her mornings at camp, I figured out how to squeeze in my daily sweat sessions, and Maddie and I got to spend some quality time with together, just the two of us. Each week of our summer will be a little different this year, which is both fun and a little unnerving, so wish us luck!

Here are few favorites to kick off the weekend…

ONE.

The Coffee Shop / We came back from vacation to find the most amazing {and needed} coffee shop opened in our neighborhood, and we couldn’t be happier {see photo above}. If you’re local to Charleston, you must checkout Summit Coffee- we popped in early this week, and I enjoyed a delicious iced latte {their ice is elite} while Maddie chugged her dreamsicle drink-a vanilla + orange soda topped with vanilla cold foam- from the summer menu. Be sure to stop by and bring the kiddos, too!

TWO.

The Makeup Line / I am VERY late to the Jones Road game, but I’m finally there. After polling my audience about their acclaimed Miracle Balm, the team at Jones Road sent me some of their favorite products, and I have been hooked ever since. I rarely wear makeup, and when I do, it’s very minimal. I love how fresh and simple these JR products are, and how they effortlessly give a dewy glow. I rounded up all my favorites here.

THREE.

The Summer Activity / Maddie was home with me all week, which I absolutely loved. We kept ourselves busy with a variety of activities- some games, shopping, baking, swimming, and *gulp* slime. Our favorite, though, was a morning spent painting pottery at The Art Place Studio. It was so nice to chat and decorate our blank canvases together- we both chose a mushroom shaped vase, neutrals for mom, yellow for Mads- and we can’t wait to see the finished products soon.

*FOUR.

The Wine Shop / A few weeks ago my sister and I popped into the Wine Shop Old Village for a quick bite and beverage following our pop up at Village Booksellers. I had been drooling over their small plates on Instagram, and had to get my charcuterie fix. It’s the cutest little spot with a wide array of beer and wine options and delicious snacks. A must try.

FIVE.

The Podcast / I recorded my very first podcast back in April, with my friend Sarah Frick. If you don’t know Sarah, she is the guru behind The Works sweat studios and also has an incredible podcast, Are You For Real? She’s equal parts real and inspiring, and has built the most incredible community here in Charleston. Plus, her mat classes will kick your ass in the very best way. I was so honored when she asked me to record with her- and nearly threw up before taping- but the conversation was incredible and it was the best way to pop my podcast cherry. Check out our episode here.
