We're a sucker for story time over here. Big time. Ever since MM was a little babe, we've taken a few minutes at the end of the day to wind down and cuddle up with our favorite books.  We've collected a few tried and true favorites over the past year and half {here}; but I'm always on the constant hunt for more.

So when my sister, and MM's godmother, gifted her a personalized story all her own for Christmas, I was pretty excited. The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name, is an adorable picture book that makes the most perfect gift for a special tot or mama-to-be. Each book is personalized  in their unique search to find the missing letters of your child's name.

Being that my girl's name is Madeline, ours was initially a little long for MM's wee attention span, but over the past few weeks she's become quite attached to her sweet Christmas gift- and loves spotting all her favorite pictures on its colorful pages.

It’s such a strange dichotomy: to feel so strongly that this tiny person was always meant for us, while formerly having succumbed to the notion that she may never come. Friday marks six weeks with our newest addition and I can’t believe its gone by so fast.

I learned rather quickly with MM that what they say is true: The days are long, but the years are short. Cliché, yes. But clichés exist for a reason. And in this part of our journey, where so much has changed, that remains the very same.

It has taken me some time to sit down and write this piece about our transition from a family of three to a family of four, because the transition has taken us- has taken me- some time. More than I had thought it would; more than I would like to admit.
