Pizza, Plaid + Pinot
Yesterday I turned thirty-three. And we threw a good old-fashion pizza party- made a little more adult paired with lots and lots of pinot. And because I'm a sucker for fall fire pits and flannels, we all donned our favorite plaids. Even Georgia got in on the fun, wearing her newest Olive & Atlas collar made from Pendleton plaid.
Inside we set up all the pinot, complete with our new tartan letter "M" and red letter board that will be perfect for the upcoming holidays.
Outside we set up hay bales around the fire pit and covered them with assorted blankets to cozy up with later in the night. A vintage plaid cooler served as the perfect way to store all the necessities for s'mores. And to spice things up a bit we made different variations of the campfire favorite- Reese's Peanut Butter Cup S'mores were made by roasting marshmallows and serving between classic graham crackers; Chocolate Chip Cookies S'mores consisted of traditional Hershey Bars and roasted marshmallows between our favorite soft baked Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Not pictured: all the pizza we consumed. And it was a lot. We ordered from three of our favorite spots and had them delivered for a tasting of all the best pies.
It was one of my very favorite birthdays yet, and a theme I highly recommend. Now excuse me while I workout for three days straight to burn off all the goodness I consumed at said celebration.
Comment below with your favorite grownup birthday party theme, I'd love to know!
Just a few weeks ago we celebrated six months in our new home. On March 14, to be exact. I cannot believe we have lived here for half a year. It’s still so crazy at times to think we moved our little family of four, plus two fur babies, down south in the middle of a pandemic. But did it we did, and are so happy to be in our cozy home and to finally enjoy a bit of a routine. It was a tad hectic there for a bit- with so many changes and so little routine- but over the last few months we’ve found our groove again, and we’ve made a few simple changes that has helped make life just a little bit easier these days.
