Thirty-Two

Fall Outdoor Dinner Party

A few months ago I was perusing Pinterest {as I often do} and stumbled upon the most gorgeous photo of a woodsy outdoor dinner party. The photo was moody in the most charming way- a lone rustic farm table in the woods; lit by candlelight, set with mismatched tableware, and accented with assorted blankets to fight any chill. I showed the image to my husband in passing, mentioning that I would love to recreate the scene one cozy fall night.

Thanks to him- with a little help from family, friends and pinning- that fall night came this weekend. A beautiful al fresco dinner party to celebrate my 32nd birthday. He strung vintage bulbs, brought in some rustic rentals, and inflated the oversized balloons I've been trying to find an excuse to buy;  and my mama whipped up a delicious autumn feast fit for any holiday celebration. Thankfully, the weather cooperated: it was sunny during the day and stayed almost warm until late; our fire pit, a few blankets, and some bottles of wine enough to keep us cozy for hours.  In terms of birthdays, it left nothing to be desired; and was just the way I wanted to celebrate. Thank you, family and friends, for bringing that little photo from Pinterest to life, and making my dinner party dreams come true.
