Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It’s the last day of school here in South Carolina, and we are ready for summer! I’m having some mixed emotions about the start of this next chapter, as we’ve all come to thrive on our little routine. Even though I’ll miss some of my daily staples- i.e The Works- we are looking forward to some much needed vacations and quality time with my girls. I hope everyone is surviving this bittersweet time of year- if you’re like me, and have been an absolute puddle of emotions, know you aren’t alone. We got this!

Here are a few Friday Favorites to kick off summer…

ONE.

The Pop Up / I’m thrilled to be popping up this Saturday at the Village Bookseller Sip & Shop! Join me and my friends from the Wine Shop OV as we pop up at our favorite local bookstore, Village Bookseller, for a sip & shop with local retailers! I’ll be there signing My Sister, Lila Lee from 12-3pm. Come say “hi!”

TWO.

The Mary Janes / If you follow along on IG, you know I’m obsessed with my little blue Mary Janes {pictured above}. These Alaia lookalikes are my favorite find of the year- under $50 {compared to the $1100 splurge}, buttery soft leather, and the prettiest shade of blue. They took a little while to arrive, but trust- they’re so worth it. Available in baby blue, white and black- I recently ordered the black and will surely be living in them come fall.

THREE.

The Tacos for a Cause / Local favorite Home Team BBQ kicked off their 4th annual “Tacos For Tom” fundraiser this past weekend to “ Crush Tacos Smoke ALS.” Home Team has been a favorite since we landed in Charleston, and it’s things like this that just makes us love them even more. All month long head to any Charleston HT location and order the Cheeseburger Taco- 100% of sales will support the fight against ALS. Last year they sold 7,300 tacos and raised $46,000- the community in this city never ceases to amaze me.

PS: while you’re there enjoying your cheeseburger tacos, be sure to grab their nachos with pulled pork {add queso}, fried ribs, fried mac and cheese balls and a Game Changer for good measure. For more information about Tacos for Tom, head to their post here.

FOUR.

The Date Night / Last night Phil and I finally enjoyed a night out at Vern’s- a cozy, local fan favorite. It’s been on our list to try for some time now, but it took a while to snag a coveted reservation that wasn’t past our bedtime. And I’m here to tell you- it was so worth the wait. Everything was superb- the food, the ambience, the DESSERT. It’s a must.

FIVE.

The Sweater / If you follow me on instagram, you know that I just received my first sweater designed by my dear friend for her brand new company, Tutto. The “everything” sweater truly lives up to its name- and took me from day to night here yesterday, from drop off to date night. If you’re looking for the perfect summer staple, check her out here.
