Best Happy Hour Alcohol Alternatives

Image via De Soi

When I committed to Dry January this year, I had zero intention of giving up alcohol for good. In fact, I had low expectations for lasting even one full month, as I had tried to tackle DJ a few times before without success. In the past, I framed a break from alcohol as a cleanse- as “giving up” something. But this year, when that last day of January arrived, I was overwhelmed by all the things I had gained in those 31 days- I couldn't ignore all of the benefits I felt from cutting out booze.

More energy. More clarity. More resilience. The list goes on and on.

Now five months in, I don’t see myself going back...

Its true I have become a little less social, but a recluse I am not. I still like partaking in a happy hour or night out with friends and family, and have been pleasantly surprised with the offerings at most bars and restaurants here in Charleston. Over the last few months I have tried a wide variety of NA canned cocktails, beers, wines and spirits, and have found so many amazing options. The only thing I have yet to fall in love with is an NA red, so if you have recommendations please pass them along!
