Friday Favorites
Happy Friday, kids!
This week was a short one for us- or at least I made it that way. Phil was off on Monday, and for the third year in a row I accidentally kept MM home, thinking she was off too. I would blame it on all the moving parts around here these days; but, if I’m being honest, I’m pretty sure I would have kept her home had I remembered. There’s really nothing better than these rare days when we can be together just us four , and I would feel weird sending her to school while Dad gets the day off to play.
The rest of the week went by quickly, and we made it through the crazy Connecticut storm unscathed. The winds were insane; but there was something about the rainy night that felt oddly cozy and comforting, and I wholly appreciated finally feeling some October vibes.
And despite a cold that knocked me on my butt for a few days- which is super fun with a four year-old and newborn in tow- week six with baby Lila was relatively smooth. It took some time {more here} but I think we have settled back into the newborn stage and of a routine, if there’s such a thing in this phase of life.
Here are a few of my favorites from this week:
one.
Unbelievable on Netflix: I had been hearing about this show for a few weeks before I sat down to start. And it’s every bit as good as people say. I binged the entire season on one lazy Sunday, and now I’m just sad it’s over. Based on a true story, this is one to check out if you’re into crime dramas.
two.
Nécessaire The Body Wash: This week I tried a few new products from sustainable clean beauty brand, Nécessaire; and I’m very happy to report I’ve found a few new favorites. I LOVE their eucalyptus scented body wash and exfoliator; and their fragrance-free lotion is great for every day.
three.
Cozy Knit Cardigan: I’ve been living in this ivory cardigan for the last few weeks. Under $100, soft and versatile- it’s checking all my boxes. I love it over a white tee with jeans or layered over a dress like the one above or a maxi like this one here.
four.
The Nightmare Before Christmas: Maddie watched this movie for the first time last week and I’m pretty sure we’ve watched it no less than 459 times since then. Seriously, though, it’s her favorite right now and we’ve been watching on repeat. So much so that we have delved deep in to the “EXTRAS” on the iTunes version. If you have this version, I highly recommend watching What’s This? Jack’s Haunted Mansion Holiday Tour and Tim Burton’s Original Poem.
five.
Pumpkin Clove Jar Candle: This one’s been burning nonstop for the past few weeks. Love the scent and the jar is so pretty.
Six.
Boxwood Wreaths: With the upcoming holidays on the brain, I was on the hunt for boxwood wreaths this past week. I found these faux beauties online and I’m obsessed. They currently live above my bed- we hung three of them- and I can’t wait to take some holiday pictures with them in the next few weeks.
