Weekend Recap

I’m happy to report that this past weekend, it finally felt like fall here in Connecticut. And the Matkovics were happy to welcome the crisp air with open arms.

Friday night Phil and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary with dinner at one of our favorite local spots, Lugano- followed by a fire pit and a bottle of wine and lots of laughs at home, just the two of us. Saturday our plans were thrown for a loop when we woke up lots of rain showers; but by afternoon it cleared up just enough for us to meet some friends at one of our local nurseries to enjoy the pumpkin patch.

Sunday was one of those rare days that was for just us three.

Typically, we spend most of our down time with family and friends- and Maddie’s friends, too. Football Sundays have become a tradition in our house- with all the fall foods and lots of great company.

But this past weekend we took it easy with just our little tribe.

In the morning we bundled up, grabbed our coffee, and headed to our local beach. The sun was shining, the ocean was glistening, and the water was surprisingly warm. Maddie and her dad searched for crabs and chased seagulls and got all sandy; reminding me of just how lucky we are to be able to enjoy this special place all year round. And its only a few more weeks {Dec 1} until we can bring Georgia along for the fun.

We then headed home to watch football as a family and cheer on the Patriots together by the fire. We cozied up with our favorite Bloody Mary and ordered Pieology in- their cauliflower crust is a game-changer. And it made for the lazy Sunday we all needed.

I hope y’all had a great Sunday, and here’s to a beautiful Monday and week to come xx
