Weekend Recap
This past weekend was one of the best we've had in quite some time. Not much was planned, everything was low key- but it was filled with some of my very favorite things: a crisp breeze, good friends, great wine, and my family.
And, thankfully, lots of Soulcycle. Because to say we ate our way through this weekend would be a vast understatement.
Sunday morning went as usual: a quick morning workout followed by brunch at our favorite creperie, Meli-Melo- there's nothing better than their Valentine crepe with a freshly pressed green juice.
I then hurried home to get ready for a super special brunch with some of my very favorite Instagram moms. If you had told me five years ago I'd be meeting up with my cyber-mom friends to drink mimosas and meet in real life after years of following each others lives on Instagram, I'd be all like, "What? You're crazy."
And while I admittedly had some butterflies morning of, I'm so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and met these lovely ladies in person. It was so nice to meet the mamas behind the feeds I've connected with over the years- ladies that have supported me virtually through ups and downs, and have connected with me over the wild highs and lows of motherhood; and our sisterhood only deepened over brunch.
And a cocktail, or two.
We met at Westport's Amis Trattoria. And if you're local, it's a must. Grab the girls. Get the Ugo. And treat yourself to a yummy pasta or salad.
And the food fest didn't stop there. Because, Sunday.
Since my mama and siblings moved back we've made a habit of Sunday Family Dinners. This particular one landed us at Stamford's Fortina Pizza. And we got. it. all. We started with the Piatto Di Verduro- because there's nothing like a platter of wood-fired vegetables to make you feel better about all the pizza pies to follow. Plus- their dipping sauces are unreal. In terms of pizzas, I've tried a few at Fortina. As usual, I went with my go-to's: Prosciutto and San Gennaro. And they did not disappoint. And because we all have a sweet tooth, we went all in on desserts. The favorites? The Brown Butter Bread Pudding and Tartufo. Dee-Lish.
