August Roundup

Oh, hay September.

Now we begin the start of my favorite third of the year- apple picking, back-to-school shopping, football and fire pits are just around the corner. And while this summer was just as stunning- and not too hot- as ever, I'm giddy as a school girl to welcome the last stint of the season and the beginning of fall.

In just a few short weeks our Madeline will start her first day of school. EVER. And I'm getting all the feels. I'll be sure to document the day with pride, and lots of salty mama tears. She's growing up before our eyes, and I can't wait to see what a little school will do for our girl. Until then, here are a few of my August highlights.

What were yours?

Finding Magic: There's nothing quite like an impromptu trip to The Happiest Place on Earth to make you feel like a kid again. We took MM down to Orlando last year to celebrate her first birthday; and while it was super fun to show her one of our favorite places during that first trip, it was so much more magical exploring with her as a toddler. She was wide-eyed and oooh-ing and awww-ing the whole way through- and was happy as a clam to meet her very favorite mouse.

Must-See: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party; Avatar Flight of Passage; Disney Springs

Not Worth The Hype: Animal Kingdom Lodge; Frozen Ever After Ride

Going To The Chapel: In case you missed it: My littlest sister is getting hitched! And we got all dolled up and boarded a boat to celebrate. And we had a G-D blast. Big thanks to Taylor Dunn for making us all look pretty. Even after a few glasses of champs.

Bite Of The Big Apple: Eight months of the year down, and this mama's been holding true to the resolution for some "me-time." This month I snuck out to take a much-needed SoulCycle class in the city, followed by a super yummy dinner and drinks with friends. If you're in NYC, check out Vic's for some of the most delish apps I've had in a while. And the gimlet ain't so bad either.
