Reboot with Juice Press
One of my New Year's Commitments was to find a Food Philosophy that works for me, and my often hectic schedule as a mom and sometimes blogger.
One-third of the way into 2017, and I have to pat myself on the back for making some pretty big strides in this department. In the past I've gone on some drastic diets- restricting calories, depriving myself a little too much; and then eating all the delicious things in sight. No good.
But over the past few months I've changed my approach to food; likely due to the fact that I am no longer motivated by fitting into a certain size, but am truly dedicated to finding a diet that gives me the energy I require to be a mom. Because I need a lot.
I've found that a daily stop at my favorite local juice shop, Juice Press, has been one of the best tweaks I've made this year. I've always been a fan of a green juice here and there, but this year I made a conscious effort to reach for greens over junk. And so far, so good.
But I'm also human, so over this past weekend I indulged a little more than normal whilst on vacation. So to reset after a few days away, I decided to try JP's New York City Cleanse.
I'm no strangers to cleanses. I've done a few over the past few years. Yes, even the ones that last seven-plus days and require you to drink cayenne and lemon water. But I'm not about those drastic measures anymore. And this one day effort with some of my very favorite juices was just what I needed to refocus and get back on track.
Here are a few notes on my latest cleanse:
Who
What
NYC Cleanse | 6 Juices: GLO, Greens + Earth, Fountain of Youth, Love at First Sight, Lucky Seven, Soul Garden | 1150 Calories
Favorite Juice
Lucky Seven. But if you're ginger-adverse, this one's not for you.
Least Favorite Juice
Soul Garden. I prefer my greens cut with just a teeny bit of fruit. But in terms of all green juices, its not half bad.
Hardest Part
Mama needs her coffee! If I'm being honest, I had a cup {or two}. But held the creamer and drank that caffeine black for the day.
Will I do it again?
Heck, yes. I might swap a juice or two, but that's one of the things I love about Juice Press's cleanse. They don't tell you the order in which to drink your juices, and allow you to mix and match at your juicing-leisure.
Where can I get one?
Suburban folk can find Juice Press at five local locations: 360 Greenwich Avenue, Equinox Greenwich, Equinox Darien, Equinox Armonk + Equinox Mamaroneck. Click {here} for a full list of location.
